Sitting by the fire
Surrounded by our families
Thanksgiving in the Mountains
And Christmas at the beach
What seemed like a perfect future
Is now so far out of reach
How could it be
That we both shared
The same holiday dream
Our families together-
An iconic, picture perfect scene
Sitting around the table
For a meal we all helped prepare
Now it seems that perfect picture
Has vanished into thin air
We talked about sitting on the porch
Reminiscing, catching up with the kids
And showing them how true love looks
When surrounded by happiness
And when they’d all finally go to sleep
You’d be there holding me
Grateful for our families’
